STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS
September 24, 2004 – The Independent Inquiry Committee today
announced that Anna Di Lellio has decided to step down as Director of
Communication. In the letter of resignation, Ms. Di Lellio
stated that her decision was regretfully made to ensure that the
Committee's work remains free of any controversy that could arise from
remarks she made more than two years ago, completely unrelated to the
investigation. The Committee accepted her resignation with great
regret, as Ms. Di Lellio has been a valued member of the staff,
respected by her colleagues and the Committee.
